The NL West is lookin' sexy

Yesterday was a day that apparently only I predicted. The DBacks and Rockies both swept their NLDS opponents 3-0.

May I just say to all the supposed "experts" at ESPN- what the hell are you smoking? How in the hell did you think the Cubbies had a chace against the team with the best record in the National League? I know it's late for us east siders when the boys from the west coast lace up their shoes but if you watched them play a game or two you wouldn't look like such gigantic douches this morning. The NL West had 4 teams duking it out for the playoffs all season; never mind your stupid stats about how the DBacks scored less than their opponents. The Dbacks have been winning all year using their combination of air tight defense and clutch hitting, which after you use a formula like that for a season doesn't seem so "clutch" at all. They have an 18 win pitcher (Webb) and Valverde led the league with 47 saves. Last night Hernandez had the Cubbies hit into 3 double plays to squelch any chance of a comeback. This team, as well as the Rockies are ready to play and this NLCS is going to be, in the words of Eric Cartman, "super sweet".

As for the Rockies, they've peaked at the best time of the year, obviously. During the NLDS they held the Phillies big guns-Rollins, Utley and Howard to a combined 7-for-34 (.206) with 15 strikeouts in the series. They only scored 8 runs in 3 games.

So, who's going to be moving on the World Series? My guess, while a little biased, is of course the DBacks. Their formula hasn't changed all year and they find ways to win. Not that it will be easy- the Rockies are on fire and have a mission to get Todd Helton (who, honest-to-God looks like a murderer) a ring before he falls apart and retires. So because of home-field advantage my choice is the Dbacks in seven.
